REV. BETSY RICE
Betsy graduated from the University of Michigan (B.S.) and Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv.).
She was ordained in 1992 as associate pastor at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva IL, where she served for seven years. During the younger years of her children, Betsy served as a supply preacher in the Detroit Presbytery and as parish associate for pastoral care at First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak MI. Prior to seminary she was a teacher of mathematics. She has also served as Co-chair of the Detroit Presbytery’s Committee of Preparation for Ministry. Betsy joined the Worthington Presbyterian Church staff in 2016.
Betsy is a Michigan native, having grown up in suburban Detroit. She and her husband Tom Rice are parents of Daniel, a mechanical engineer in Columbus, and Andrew, currently a student at Davidson College in NC. Betsy is an accomplished gardener and loves to cook.
